Montreal (CA) – The International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO) the world governing body of the sport, is proud to announce the 6th edition of its premier event the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup, to be held in Crete, Greece at the world-famous Lyttos Beach Hotel from 24 to 27 October 2024.
“This is a joyous occasion for us, here in Crete, when we can host such an important international event,” stated Iakovos Kokotakis, Sporting Director at the Lyttos Beach Hotel. “We have built an international reputation for excellence in hospitality, then in Tennis, now we move to building on football,” he concluded.
The 6th edition will introduce, for the first time, two age categories with a 35+ age category and the regular 25+ age group. “Teams are quite excited to return to Europe for this championship,” said Albert Zbily, President of FIFCO, “this is truly an enjoyable event, we want to try to get more Europeans involved – there is so much potential,” he concluded.
In a signing ceremony at the Crete resort, the president of Lyttos Beach, Panegelis Sapounakis stated, “last year we witnessed an incredible 5th edition of this prestigious tournament, but this year we will top all of the previous editions here in Crete.”
With the onslaught of new members coming on board at FIFCO, this tournament is seeking to expand in size and hopefully reach a new level of competition with a different category group. “We are working quite diligently to ensure that the overall experience always meets our standards for all our guests,” stated Albert Zbily, “we continue to focus on the customer experience both in football and in fun,” he concluded.
The 6th edition is now open for registration, with priority going to FIFCO country members. A minimum of 16 country teams will be playing a 5v5 format on an artificial turf setting and staying in the all-inclusive resort of Lyttos Beach.
