During the 3-day event, the Iranian representative team did not lose any matches and drew with SITA from Cape Verde. They flew by the knock off round to reach the final against MasterCard from USA. “I don’t think you could have asked for a better final,” said Iakovos Kokotakis, Sporting Director at Lyttos Beach and official organiser of the event.

The USA team were shut out 6-0 by Saman Bank, the defending champions. This is only the second time USA has participated at this FIFCO event.
“We are absolutely delighted with the result of this championship, we enjoy attending the FIFCO events and believe in the future of this organisation and what it stands for,” said Javad Ramzi, president of the Federation of Amateur and Worker’s Sports of Iran. “It is not only about the success of our teams, but it is about the people we meet that makes this tournament so wonderful,” he concluded.
Iran has won four of the last six editions and represents the most successful team in this tournament series but remains in second place in the world rankings after leader United Arab Emirates remains on top.
“We are quite proud of our team this year, with Abu Dhabi Police, they have trained hard and deserve to be here,” said Fahd Omar, president of Falcon Sports. “We will continue to strive to remain at the top of these world rankings and look forward to the cup returning to the UAE very soon,” he concluded.
“This cup was an important part of the FIFCO path in that we needed to return to Europe and try to build on our laurels. There is much to do here, and we are very proud of the results of this 6th edition,” Albert Zbily, president of FIFCO concluded.
